On behalf of all the children, staff and governors, I would like to warmly welcome you to our website and thank you for your interest in our school.

Horndean Infant School is a school where every child matters and deserves the best opportunities to be able to follow their dreams and aspirations. Our school is a place where children develop positive attitudes to learning. We take pride in our children’s abilities and work hard to help all our children achieve high standards. We are a close school community that puts the needs of the children at the heart of all we do, offering exciting learning experiences that ensure learning is enjoyable and fun.

Starting school is probably one of the biggest steps that you and your child will ever take. At Horndean Infant School our child centered approach to the curriculum ensures that each child’s uniqueness is at the center of our provision making sure that every child is nurtured and developed. ‘Teamwork’ is one of the school’s important values and we value working in partnership with parents/carers in providing the highest quality of education possible and are always here to listen.

At Horndean Infant School we expect high standards of behaviour. We pride ourselves on being a welcoming, caring and inclusive school, where every child can flourish. Our core values that make up Horndean UNITED: Uniqueness, Never Giving Up, Independence, Team-Work, Engagement and Determination allow our children to develop key learning behaviours which involve teaching children how to learn and develop resilience and creativity, how to work effectively within a team and to become aware of themselves as learners. We hope that prioritising these behaviours will help ignite a passion for learning that lasts a lifetime.

We always welcome visits from prospective parents so if you would like to come and see us in action, please contact the school office on 02392 593453 and discover what Horndean has to offer your child. We look forward to welcoming you into our school family.

Yours Sincerely,
Ben Frank
